The size 15 1/2 is recorded on the leaf on the side of the box. The Elmwood Collar was patented September 12, 1871. The decorated lid has birds on a tree branch with a house in the background. The square box is green with the size printed on a leaf.

A couple sits in a row boat in the image on the lid of the box. The box is for 15 inch collars. The collar size is printed on a decorated label affixed to the the purple container.

The top of the box reads "O. Mallory's Patent Box. Patented June 19th, 1865." The printing was done by Adolph Nolte, 23 Buffalo Street. The lid has a cluster of grapes with the round box decorated in a gold and purple pattern.
