CORNICE

Plaster cove cornice to which has been applied composition ornament with a cloth backing in the shape of gothic arches and trefoils. The original cornice was painted pink. The ornament and its background are painted gold. The composition is held on with tiny finish nails.

Plaster cornice; apparently an original surface with cove painted like wood grain and possibly further decoration applied to it, and then a reapplication of plaster to form a leaf-decorated cornice. The latter has tan paint and the edges are picked out in gold paint.
