Chip-carved wooden book-shaped box, square form with geometric chip-carved sides with saw-tooth border; top and bottom with sliding covers also chip-carved; the front side "page" area is carved with straps and incised with a date. It has a natural dark hardwood finish.

Book-shaped Spruce-gum Box

In the form of a book with a sliding cover a the edge, the spine is incised with horizontal bands painted salmon and gray, the covers are incised with a geometric design centering a diamond and painted black, cream and salmon. The "pages" and sliding door are painted in cream.
