Codfish Weathervane

Codfish weathervane carved from a flat piece of pine. Open mouth, notched tail, and top fins are carved out. Eyes and gills painted. Surface mottled on both sides in different conbinations of red, yellow and green paint. Evidence of hand whittling on edges.

Large English slipware dish, round and deep with notched edge. Off buff-brown clay; its face covered with brown and yellow combed slip decoration of fine herringbone pattern between stripes of combing.

Small and of semi-globular shape with short outflaring collar and fitted lid. Round, pointed finial and incised band around edge oflid. On slightly raised unglazed foot. Covered overall with dark orange (with a touch of green) glaze. Dark brown/black glaze on lid and shoulder.
