Codfish Weathervane

Codfish weathervane carved from a flat piece of pine. Open mouth, notched tail, and top fins are carved out. Eyes and gills painted. Surface mottled on both sides in different conbinations of red, yellow and green paint. Evidence of hand whittling on edges.

Blanket Crane

Of wood, each part is of rectangular shape with chamfered edges, and upright with cylindrically turned ends. Also with a tenoned tapering arm and support. The unpainted string ties of two original carved wall brackets of the crane retain traces of paint- white and light blue.

The box has a rounded top on a tall backboard that is pierced with a circular hanging hole over a rectangular open nail constructed box. It is pained in red and grained in black, green and yellow. The backboard is painted to imitate a "knot" in the wood.
