Pieced and quilted top. Squares of various multi-colored cotton prints. Back pieced in brown and white prints. Bound edges.

Band of latticework on curved chair rail, stiles and flared hand rails. Snowshoe-shaped splat w/ open caned circular motif. Arms supported by three bent reeds which form arcade. Oval wooden seat frame w/ caned seat. Slightly flared legs w/ bracket supports enclosing circular insert of wickerwork.

Cradle

Extremely crude doll's cradle w/ no hood. Plain rockers, slightly rounded footboard and headboard. Evidence of red stain. Paper and textile fragments still on frame. Nailed construction throughout.

Arm chair

Bamboo-turned child's "Windsor" potty chair. Four splayed legs w/ single stretchers on all sides which support a slightly shaped rectangular seat w/ central round cutout. Plain dowel arm supports and arms. Two rear stiles enclose 4 dowels which support rectangular crest rail. Crest rail has stencile...

Plaid silk bag w/ drawstring containing letter to Miss Elizabeth L. Coffin (1813-?), daughter of Edmund Coffin (1764-1825) and Lucy Kimball (?-1858). See file for transcription of letter.
