Fragment of a printed muslin fabric with brown floral motif. In an envelope marked "October 26, 1891" with an accompanying letter giving history as being from a dress worn by Dorothy Quincy, wife of Governor John Hancock.

Woven mat

Small octagonal shaped woven mat made of leaf fibers from Hawaii. Traditional weaving techniques were used to create the checked pattern, with the ends of the leaves twisted and woven back into the body of the mat. Mats like this were widely available in Hawaii for the tourist market.
